All that Glitters - A Sparkling Guest Post

Friday, November 4, 2011
Hey Peeps!
We busted through another week and I have got something super glittery, something super shiny for you to brighten up your day!! Jenn from Indie Supporter is here today with a completely random post. That's right, Random. She is going to be telling us all about her love of sparkly, glittery things! There are even pictures!! LOL.
So get out your sunglasses and have some fun!

First off, let me do my usual GUSHING THANK YOU to Cambria for letting me use her blog, AGAIN!
You seriously are such an amazing chick and I heart the heck outta ya!!!
Get your sunglasses ready people, this is gonna be one bright post! Today’s random post is about my love for things that sparkle (Except Vampires, Sorry Meyer). That’s right, I said it, things that sparkle. I’m not a really big girly girl but this one stereotype does fit me, I can be distracted by things that glitter.

This love goes back to when I was a tot and has always stayed with me. I love me some diamonds and love some Swarovski crystals. What about rhinestones you ask? Well, those are ok but they aren’t the same as crystals, because they don’t sparkle as brilliantly. I’ll give you an example later as a case in point.

While I have always had this love of things that sparkle, I’ve kinda been in the closet so to speak because it’s not always been so fashionably acceptable to be all crystalled out. Now, I am busting down that door and watching the glitter spray everywhere!
I can’t deny or hide it any longer.

I was so excited when I started my part time job a few months ago and I saw that chicks were ALL OVER the rhinestone scene. It’s EVERYWHERE! T-shirts, jeans (Miss Me jeans are so gorgeous btw, nothing hotter than a bedazzled butt) shoes, hats, hair pins, headbands, jewelry, EVERYTHING!!!

At first, I was a little gun shy, I mean I am 25, can I really pull it off at MY age? (ok, fine add 5 more years and that’s how old I am) Then , I said, “Screw it! I’m gonna start bling blangin all over this joint!”
I was like a dog with a big fat bone and went so far as to take a trip to Hobby Lobby (best place for this stuff) and get some do it myself tools. NO, I did not get a bedazzler contrary to belief of many members of Creative Reviews. I wonder if they even still make those……..bedazzlers, I mean. I went and got the BEST supplies that I could find and afford.
E6000 is the BEST glue on the market for all your crafting needs, this stuff makes super glue look like flour and water.

I got a pick me up stick which one side is is like this putty type substance that helps you pick up the little jewels for placement, the other side has a sharp point that doubles as a weapon and flip that over for a slanted side to push the little buggers down.

I got several packages of the not so cheap Swarovski crystals and some rhinestones just for good measure. Off to work I went, I started with a black leather bracelet. ..

The top of the bracelet consisted of bigger crystals than the bottom and took about a hour to do.
Just in case you were wondering, here’s the size of the smaller ones I did for the bottom AND my name tag.

I hate that the picture doesn’t do it justice cause this bad boy BLINGS!!!!! I get A LOT of compliments on it but not as much as I do my name tag that took almost 2 HOURS!!!!

I’m telling you, if the light hits this thing just right it will BLIND you and I gotta say, I LOVE IT!!!!!
And so, I went off to try out the rhinestones before I finished and what I am about to show you is why rhinestones most often than not, can NOT be compared to crystals……

Yep, that’s right, it’s a shampoo bottle. I travel a lot and so I wanted to be able to tell the difference from my shampoo, conditoner and bodywash…..ok fine, it gave me a good excuse to try out my new found skills too. The reason why I don’t like the rhinestones as much is because as you can hopefully tell, they are rather dull. There’s not that sparkle that I so long to see and takes my breath away. I hope that when I go to heaven, God sees fit to have a pair of Swarovski wings waiting for me, cause that would just be the ULTIMATE!!!!
Anyway, that’s how my love for things that glitter began and have become the subject of many jokes around “group”. Before I go, let me share with you a few more pics of some of my favorite things….PPPPLLLLLEEEEAAAASSSEEEE?
Here is a pic of a cowgirl hat that I have yet to wear.

Yes, it’s on my son’s koo koo bird.

OH MY GOSH, and here is a pair of the most AWESOME shoes EVER!!!!
Seriously, the are called sunflower box or something like that and they are the most comfortable shoes EVER! I live in these shoes as you can tell as the name is now worn plum off.

Last but not least my recent aqusition:

This, ladies and gentlemen (if you are still reading) is a pic of a rhinestone belt.
There is a underlying joke to this belt.
See, my ex showed up one day all cowboyed up complete with a belt…with..RHINESTONES!!!
Yep, I said it, a rhinestone belt ON A GUY!!!!!
I was shocked to say the least and thought to myself, what the hell? I don’t even own one of those and I love that stuff. So, I found one and bought it to show him how belts like that should be worn……ON GIRLS!!!!! And that my friends, is how my love for all things bedazzled began and continues to do this day.
But wait, it’s not over yet, I know you are thinking, “Seriously? What more could this chick have?”
Well I have quite a few more things and Cambria is being gracious enough to let me do a two parter for this story.

I actually found a store that caters to my obsession and yes I frequent it. My next post will be about said store and some of the most AMAZING pieces that I have bought there.Until next time, here is a teaser of what you will be seeing….

As you can see, the white tiger is an AMAZING bracelet and the other two pieces are GORGEOUS headbands!
Thank you so much for letting me take over your blog for this post, Cambria and thanks to everyone who read this through till the end! J
(In case you are wondering, yes I do use moderation and only wear like 2 pieces at once)

Thanks to a blinged out Jenn for being here today! So for all my peeps out there, do you like to wear a little sparkle? If you do when and where and how? What is your favorite sparly something to wear?

A Guest Review- Anna Dressed in Blood

Monday, October 17, 2011
Hey Peeps!
I thought I would start out the week here at The Unlocked Diary with a Guest Review from author Dale Ibitz. I read this review of hers and it just got me really excited about this book and I thought it was something to bring to my people (yes, you). I love, love the cover for this book and after reading Dale's review I added it to my TBR list on GoodReads.

So before the review I thought I would tell you a litte about Dale, who is a member of my Creative Reviews group on GR (our button is over there on the right and we also have a FB fan page AND we are putting out a short story anthology for charity this November...). Dale is just great company. She always has good things to say and she is friendly and fun! In short, she's a great gal to have around.

I do not have a picture of her because when I asked her for one she told me that she didn't have one because she was short, old and wrinkly. LOL. She said I could just put up a picture of a raisin. BA ha ha ha ha ha ha...

Well, Dale, I disagree. I am betting that someone as fantastic as you is gorgeous so this is how I am going to choose to view you in my mind (hence, everyone else shall too.):

Gorgeous.

Dale is a YA and MG author. Her two published books are Fire in the Blood (young adult) and Racing Nightmares (middle grade). They are available at amazon and BN and createspace. She has a blog:
http://dalesplace-dale.blogspot.com Follow her!!

And she has an author website:
http://www.wix.com/daleibitz/daleibitz

Here's her brief bio:
I currently live in New Hartford, CT. Hard to say where I'm 'from' because we moved around a lot when I was a kid, but did time in both Connecticut and Washington state...I won't bore you trying to name all the towns we lived in. And, yeah, I'm not a 'dude', despite the name. It's kinda neat now, but growing up it was almost tragic...I heard things like "are you a girl or a boy?" way too often to be funny.

I hold a full-time day job so writing is something I do just because I like it [am obsessed with]. When reading, I trend toward the YA fantasy genre, but will read just about anything, well, except maybe the dictionary, or anything non-fiction that's drier than the dinners I habitually burn. Music inspires me, especially alternative metal, at least while the group is edgy and full of angst.

And now for the fabulous Review that Dale has written:

Anna Dressed in Blood
Kendare Blake

Cas is a high school kid who travels around with his mom, who's a witch, and kills ghosts. It's a tough business, bopping from home to home, killing ghosts, no friends, a loner...a Sam or Dean type from Supernatural. But Cas has purpose. He's in training, doing jobs and getting better and stronger, cuz he's going back to get the thing that killed his dad when he was 7 years old. Then he meets Anna, and a cast-load of kids who think they're going to channel the gang from Scooby Doo, and the shit hits the fan.

I have one word for this book.

Wow.
Great.
Yummy.

Okay, that's three words, but really, this book is by far the best book I've read this year. I loved it.

First, let me gush a little about the voice. I loved the voice of this book, kind of reminiscent of Scott Westerfield and Peeps (yeah! Scott rocks!) with tight, solid writing, and a witty smart-ass style.

The characters. We have a strong, snappy main character who ain't afraid of no ghosts. Okay, maybe a little, sometimes, but he's also not afraid to admit it when a girl ghost kicks his ass. The other characters have depth, are true to life, though maybe just a tad sterotypical. You have your dick jocks, popular girl who has more between the ears then she lets on, and your geek loner that no one notices (who also happens to be a black witch), and you know what? I loved them all, cuz they were so realistically drawn.

The dialogue is smart and smooth. The plot didn't have any holes that I noticed...I didn't find myself tripping through the book. And 3/4 of the way through the book we're wading through dead bodies and thinking we're winding this bad boy up, and the author throws in an OMG-I-didn't-see-that-coming moment. I love OMG-I-didn't-see-that-coming moments. Because basically I love saying OMG-I-didn't-see-that-coming when I'm reading. The more times I say it, the better.

You have a bad-ass ghost that's whacking people as a matter of purpose, and bodies are dropping faster than snowflakes, but there are two sides to every coin. The author paints this picture as deftly as a double-edged sword...there's more to this ghost than your evil slasher-type from a B horror movie. No one is evil just to be evil. There's a purpose to the evil here, and it's not the ghost's fault.

So, bottom line. Get the book. Read it. I hope you love it as much as I did.

That's what I have got for you today! Thank you so much for spending a few minutes of your Monday with us at The Unlocked Diary!! (like you would really rather work. Ha!)

Really fun Guest interview and Free Stuff!!!

Wednesday, September 28, 2011
Hey Peeps!
You do not want to miss this today. I repeat, You do not want to miss this. I have a fantastic interview today with Brett Tally author of That Which Should Not Be. This book is perfect for upcoming Halloween so you should grab a copy.... or.....you could win it here!!

But that's not for me to tell you about. That's for Amy to tell you about.
That's right, Amy Eye, Editor of most excellence, radio show co-host, Creative Reviews Moderator, yadda yadda yadda, if i told you all of her accomplishments we'd be here all day. But one more, she is a great friend of mine and super hilarious. So her interview with Brett is totally entertaining.

DO NOT MISS THIS.

Before I post the goods let me tell you about Amy. She is an Editor. Yes, my editor and editor to many. Check out her website: http://theeyesforediting.com/
Check out Amy:
Yup, she's pretty and nice.

So now that you know a little about my guest let us get on with her interview with Brett.

Oh My Goodness people, I am writing all over Cambria’s blog!  I have the sudden urge to pick up a crayon and just scribble all over the place, draw little hearts, peace  signs and stick figures

(which is about as far as my artistic skills go).  Know what the best thing about all of this is?  She told me I could!  So anything that may offend, disgust or disturb you, you can blame it all on your blogger friend, Cambria.  J
I am excited that I not only get to write my very first guest blog post for The Unlocked Diary, I got to do an interview with JournalStone’s new super-stud author, Brett Talley!  If you haven’t heard of him yet, get out from under your rock and PAY ATTENTION.  This is some good stuff comin’ right  atcha!
Mr. Brett has written a book called That Which Should Not Be.  This is the perfect time of year for you people to pick this book up.  It is getting close to Halloween time, and this book has the goods.  It will make you think about the dangers that await every time you close your eyes.  You want spooky?  It’s  here.  You want little tinglies up your spine?  Yups, it’s got that too.  Check out the cover of this book…

You cannot look at this cover and NOT think that it’s got some  goodies inside.  And if you think that, you are one sharp cookie – give yourself a pat on the back, then go out and buy the book.  You will NOT regret it.  I have given this book a five star rating – It has  awesomestastic gooeyness oozing  from every page to where you will be licking  it off your fingers and savoring  it for days  to come.  Yes, it’s a bit visual, but you get the idea.
Now, would you like to get to know the guy who wrote this  book?  Of  course you do!  I know the ladies will want to anyway!  Brett, please show yourself, good sir…

Yup!  This is him, stylish blazer and all.  He doesn’t really look the type to be scaring your pants off, now does he?  Well, that is why you should never judge a man by his looks alone.  (That is a very helpful tip from me to all you ladies out there…)
Here is my recent interview with Brett!

Who did your cover (I’m wanting it for my screensaver…)?
Denise Daniel did the design and Philip Renne did the art itself.  It’s pretty fantastic, huh?  I think that’s when I really started to get excited about the whole process, when I saw the cover.  Until then, it all seemed so hypothetical.  But when I opened that email, all I could say was “Wow!”
I am in complete agreement; this cover is to die for!!

What is your favorite way to relax?
I love college football (Roll Tide) and movies, so that’s usually what I find myself doing. One of the reasons I started writing was that I felt like I was wasting too much time.  Now if I spend all afternoon watching movies but I write at the same time, I feel like I am being productive!
I am curious how many times you have to rewrite a line because you are yelling at refs.

What is the best way to get in trouble on a Friday night?
I love old, abandoned buildings.  Factories, insane asylums, that sort of thing.  I am always trying to get people to go with me, but no one ever does.  You have to watch out or you’ll get arrested for trespassing.

This is Brett staying on the OUTSIDE of the places, staying on the right side of the law.  Way to be a role model, Brett!

Have you ever eaten SPAM?
Can’t say that I have.  I like my meat to come from a readily discernible animal.
*sniff*  No one likes the SPAM.

Who was the first person you told that you won the JournalStone Horror novel contest?
I was actually in Chicago for a wedding.  My girlfriend and I were walking along the shores of Lake Michigan when I got the call.  So she was the first to know.

Can you tell us about your scariest nightmare?
I have very detailed and complex dreams, and I actually wrote a story about the scariest nightmare I ever had.  It involved a factory whose owner is able to owner to scrub the memories of his workers of all the horrible things that have ever happened to them.  Instead, they will only remember the greatest thing that ever happened to them.  In exchange, however, they have to become mindless drones who work in the factory.  I thought it was pretty terrible, but I’ve never been able to sell the story, so it might have been all in my head.
I guess there wouldn’t be too many great things happening to them after the mindless drone stage, huh?

All the ladies want to know…what is your shoe size, and what is your favorite brand of shoe?
I wear a size 11, and if I can get away with it I always wear boots, Ariat being my favorite brand.

Can we expect to hear more about Carter?
Absolutely.  Carter has a lifetime of stories to be told, and I am very interested in learning more about him and his life.  I also think that the sort of Gothic, cosmic horror style of That Which Should Not Be could be about to experience a renaissance.  I have to believe the day of the sparkly vampire and sexy werewolf is coming to an end.  And while I love a good zombie yarn, there is only so much you can do with the undead.
WOO HOO!!  (That is all I have to say about that!)
Having said that, my next book is very different.  If you want a sneak peak, you can check out a story I recently wrote for the Absent Willow Review, “The Substance of Shadow.”
I will be heading that direction right after I finish this blog post!

If you had to choose between driving a Mary Kay car or a clown car, which would you prefer?
Mary Kay car, for a couple reasons.  1.  You can make a lot of money selling cosmetics.  And 2. a clown car has to have certain specifications.  It has to be small enough to amuse, but big enough to hold 10 or 15 clowns.  I know of no such limitations to a Mary Kay car.  You could have a Mary Kay Ferrari as far as I know.
I’d be down with a Mary Kay Harley  J

Would you consider writing a story outside of the horror genre?  If so, what genre would it be?
I love to try my hand at different things, and even if I settled into one genre I would still try and do different things with my writing.  I have often written stories outside of the horror genre.  I have two whole unpublished novels that are literary fiction.  I’m probably better at horror though, so for now I am going to stick to that.  One day I would like to do a very literary horror novel and see how that works out.

What is your favorite banned book?
It seems like every book has been banned by somebody for some reason or another at one time, so that is probably a broader question than one would think.  1984 is probably one of my three favorite books, and it’s been banned by any government that has ever tried to suppress its people.  I hope my book gets banned somewhere.
Hmmm, side project for Amy??

When writing, do you like to listen to the theme song from jaws, or do you have a soundtrack of scary noises that put you in the mood?
I don’t usually listen to music when I write, but I do like to have Syfy movies on in the background when I write.  Saturdays are by far my most productive days.  Something about the cheesy wonderfulness of their movies inspires me.  Maybe that’s not a good thing…

                        Keep watching,Brett!!

What was your least favorite book?
I know some people are going to hate me for this, but I only read the first 75 pages of Twilight before I just couldn’t do it anymore.  I tried!  I really did.  But I just couldn’t do it.  I’m not going to say they are bad books—no book that has that much cultural influence can really be called bad—but they just weren’t for me.  Maybe if I was younger… And female.
At least you gave it a go!!

What is your opinion on hobos?
I’m sure being a hobo is pretty awful in reality, but man, they seem romantic.  At least once a month I find myself staring off at a passing train and thinking, “I just want to jump on that thing and let it take me wherever it goes.”  There is something about the freedom that can only come from having nothing to lose that I find intoxicating.
I love hobos…

Who is your favorite fictional character and why?
Darth Vader.  I don’t know that I have some deeply meaningful reason for that, he was just the perfect bad guy and, like most kids in the 80s, I grew up loving Star Wars.  I think it’s the music.  I’ve always wanted my own theme song.  I think if I had three wishes, that would be one of them.  A theme song.

OH YEA!!  You have now inched your way up on my “super-cool authors list.” That is a very hard list to get on, and you are zooming your way towards the top.  Sorry though, J.K. Rowling will always have top spot.

When you finished your first draft, how long did you take on your editing?

It’s a good thing I like my book, because I have probably read the thing 20 times.  It took a year between finishing the first draft and publishing the novel.  I spent a lot of that time refining the book, working out the kinks.  Given that writing it only took about six months, I definitely spent more time on the editing process.

Are you sick of answering my questions yet?
Never.
See what I mean about the super cool list? This  guy is a peach!

Have you ever participated in any extreme sports?
Not really.  I want to go sky diving one day, but that’s still on the list.  I would also like to run with the bulls.  Being an Alabama football fan seems like an extreme sport at times.

This looks like a fairly extreme sport to me!!

If you won the lottery, what charity would you donate money to?
My dad is a cancer survivor, so I would definitely give a big chunk to that cause.

For all of those who missed your interview on Journal Jabber (shame on you!!) – tell us what your inspiration for writing this book was.
I love horror, and I am always looking for new books to read.  I had been reading a lot of experimental horror at the time.  Post-modern stuff, lots of footnotes.  I had wanted to write a novel for a while, and I started thinking that I rarely came upon old-fashioned, Gothic horror novels.  So I decided to write one.  I had been throwing around this idea about four men who meet to discuss their past for a while, and once I had Carter Weston and his quest, the book just sorta wrote itself.

Tell all of the Unlocked Diary readers where they can get your book, and where they can get their fill of Brett Talley.
That Which Should Not Be is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.  I am on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Goodreads, and LibraryThing.  I also have several stories that were published on the Absent Willow Review, a great site for short horror fiction.  I am always looking for new friends, and I would love to talk about my book with anyone who is interested.

Brett is also going to be a guest host on the BESTEST blog talk radio show EVER – Journal Jabber September 27th and Oct 25th.  Check out http://www.blogtalkradio.com/journaljabber to see what he has to say about all sorts of fun stuff.
Now that you have all made it to the end of my very first guest blog entry, I should  tell you about something SUPER COOL!!
We are going to be giving away a free copy of Brett’s book!  Want to get your own e-copy?  Here’s your chance to get it for free.  Leave your name and e-mail address here at the bottom of the page.  WAIT WAIT WAIT!!  I love your enthusiasm, but wait just a second.  You have a way to get some bonus entries.  Oh yea.  I am giving out bonus entries!  That Which Should Not Be is published by JournalStone, and what better way to help support Brett than by supporting his publishing house?  Go by and like JournalStone’s FaceBook page  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Journalstone/137564205599 and get a bonus entry.
Want one more?  Go to  JournalStone’s website http://www.journalstone.com and sign up for their newsletter and get ANOTHER entry!  Leave a message down below with what you did, and once it is verified, you will have extra entries!

Thank you so much to Cambria for letting me take over The Unlocked Diary for a day.  It was SUPER fun!!

Free The Egg!! A Guest Post

Saturday, September 24, 2011
Apparently, our governement is keeping something from us.
Something that we all really need.
Today, Jenn, a fabulous friend of mine over at Indie Supporter (check out her rocking button on the right hand side of my page) is blowing the cover off the governement's biggest secret.
I thought that this was a fabulous Random post for the weekend!!  Jenn has cooked up a fun yet informative post. FREE MY EGGS!!!!
Now before she tells us her secret let me give you her blog address so you can follow her.
I give you Secret Agent Jenn:
First off,  a big huge fat THANK YOU to my girlie Cambria for letting her use her most AWESOME blog to post things that are not book related.
As always, YOU ROCK MY FACE OFF and I heart you always!

Today’s subject is one that is trivial but serious to my taste buds.
Before I delve into the very serious matter, let me set the scene for you….

It was 1989, New Kids On The Block was the first concert I ever attended, MC Hammer had me wearing 7 day shi**er pants, Vanilla Ice was the first white rapper.
He and Luke Perry from Beverly Hills 90210 had men everywhere trying desperately to razor fine lines into their eye brows.
Slap bracelets were the bomb diggity, the bigger and higher the hair the better!
Don’t forget the Rave Mega hold hair spray!
This was the time of many fashion faux paus but back then, it was acceptable.

It was also the year the Berlin Wall came down.
I was living in Germany (My father was in the Air Force) and they were closing that base.
It was the first time I ever went into a bar (9 years old; yes I just dated myself), on a dare and felt so cool because I did it and didn’t get kicked out.
Europe is a lot more lenient on certain things.

But the one thing that sticks out for me the most was this:

This, my friends, Cambria’s friends, is the coveted and infamous Kinder Egg.  (kinder means : child in German)
The Kinder Egg is chocolately goodness that majority of people in America have never gotten the chance to taste.
Nothing tops this mamma jamma of chocolates.
It is the smoothest, sweetest (without going overboard) chocolate you will EVER taste.
Cadbury, Dove, and dare I say it? Godiva. Yep, that’s right! Godiva!
I imagine that if the apple Eve ate, tasted or smelled anything like this, I know why she did it and can’t blame her.
I’m salivating as I type just thinking about it!

Living in Berlin, these were abundant and my most favorite treat in the galaxy.
(ok, so I haven’t left earth physcially but even if I did, NOTHING will compare to this!)
What the Kinder Egg consists of is a smooth chocolate shell with a thin layer of white chocolate.
Inside….aaaahhhh,…the inside was almost as good!
A little capsule that held a surprise.

It could be anything from a plastic toy to stickers.
Sometimes you even had to build your toy!
During Easter, they double the egg in size and NOW you can get toys to build that are almost a FOOT in length!
But, atlas, I will never know what it would be like to get such a toy.
I will never taste this sinfully amazing treat again. ;(

And here’s why:
“At the post office at Ramstein Air Base in Germany behind the plate glass window of a locked display case are items that cannot, under any circumstances, be shipped to the United States: bullets, lighters, alcohol — and a lone, foil-wrapped chocolate egg.
The egg is a Kinder Surprise, a piece of hollow chocolate with a small toy hidden inside. It is popular around the world but banned in the United States under a 1938 law that prohibits embedding “non-nutritive” objects into candies.
Leslie Dannelly, whose husband is stationed at Ramstein, was shocked to find that she couldn’t mail home the eggs and, even worse, that when she and her family move back to Niceville, they might be forced to find a supplier for their favorite treats on the candy black market.
So she started a website, and a petition, and an all-out campaign to “free the egg” and get the law changed.
It’s ridiculous, Dannelly said.
If it’s concern about a choking hazard, she said, only about seven children have been reported choking on the eggs out of the billions sold.
“I don’t see how that is even a factor,” she said in a telephone interview from Ramstein. “My daughter choked on a croissant one time.”
Dannelly grew up with the eggs as treats when she lived abroad; her mother is from France and her father was in the Air Force.
But many people in the United States may have never tasted the eggs, so Dannelly offered a delectable description: Thin layers of delicious milk chocolate with a layer of white chocolate on the inside. Really high-quality stuff, not that “garbage chocolate,” she said.
But it’s the surprise that really makes the eggs special. Hidden beneath the chocolate, a plastic egg contains a toy.”

This is what I found when I had a craving a few weeks ago and Googled my beloved.
In today’s age, I thought for sure I could get it shipped to me here in the states!
I mean come on!
This is AMERICA!
I can order crap on Ebay from Japan and get it in two weeks!
But. Not. This.
NOT THIS!!!!

Here is a little more on the article I found that prompted my outrage and thus, this post!

“Dannelly isn’t the only one who wants to get the eggs to America. U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized nearly 25,000 of them last year, most of them from travel bags or mailed packages.
A Canadian woman was recently stopped at the border and had her Kinder egg confiscated, the Toronto Star newspaper reported. She was sent a seven-page letter asking if she wanted to relinquish the egg or face a $300 fine.
Post office workers told Dannelly they had a bucketful of the eggs returned after Christmas.
“I said ‘You guys ate them, didn’t you?’ They said ‘Yeah.’ I would have, too.”
Dannelly said she doesn't try to ship the eggs home anymore because of the campaign, but she has some "heathen" friends that still manage to slip some eggs past customs officials.
Dannelly’s website includes an online petition, which she eventually plans to send to Congress to try to get the law changed.
She has printed T-shirts, mugs and bumper stickers for the cause. They feature the Kinder egg logo with the egg’s smile turned upside down into a frown and a row of prison bars superimposed on top. She wears the T-shirt to her post office often and gets a lot of responses.
Looking at the egg trapped behind the glass at the post office was one inspiration for Dannelly’s campaign.
“It’s sitting there, banned, like it’s done something wrong,” she said. “Poor, little egg. You can come with me. I’m going to eat you, but you can come with me.”

Can you believe this nonsense?
I have done tons of research and this chick was totally right!
Our government is hard pressed to find a terrorist but damn it if they don’t find the eggs everytime!
What a load of crap!
I mean seriously, slap a label like you do everything else, America!
“Not for kids under the age of 3 or any dumba** that would try to eat the capsule too!”

Do you see the size of that capsule? Imagine trying to swallow it! I know I couldn’t!
Apparently and unfortunately a child has, but  blame the parents not the egg!
Ban the parents!
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my country but sometimes, the things that go on are just asinine!
So, in closing, I, of course went to www.freetheegg.com to sign the petition and tweeted the event, IMPLORING you all to do the same!
I also tried to contact Mrs. Dannelly to see how the project was going but have not heard from her.
Maybe, she gave up, maybe the government got  to her to shut her up….I just don’t know.
All I do know is this, I WANT MY EGGS AND I WANT THEM NOW!
QUIT HOLDING THEM HOSTAGE FROM ME!
Maybe, Hershey’s is behind this…I think I might have to do a little more digging……
Please go to www.freetheegg.com and sign!
Maybe, Mrs. Dannelly will resurface one day and continue to fight the good fight!
That, my peeps, is my rant post of the day!

Thank you again, Cambria!!!
I hope you sign the petition and if any of you are international and have access to these eggs…feel free to follow me on my blog, www.indiesupporter.com.
We can “discuss” the issue…..$$$$ lol
Here are is a picture of what I would love to have in my pantry one day….

But we can't have them.
So what are your favorite treats that you can actually have?

Happy Saturday!
I want to thank Jenn for being here today, to inform us all about what we are missing. It sounds like these little chocolate delights are fabulous.
